Hebrew Teacher
Location: Phoenix, AZ 85003
The School seeks a passionate, skilled, and collaborative Hebrew Teacher to join our faculty. The ideal candidate will inspire a love of the Hebrew language and Israeli culture, foster meaningful connections to Judaism, and contribute to the vibrant life of our school community. In addition to teaching Hebrew, this teacher will play an active role in the design and implementation of Jewish and Israeli holiday and culture programming throughout the school year.
Key Responsibilities:
Teach Hebrew language to students across grade levels, using engaging, developmentally appropriate, and communicative-based instructional approaches.
Collaborate with colleagues to plan and deliver high-quality Hebrew instruction as part of an integrated team.
Participate in the planning and execution of school-wide Jewish and Israeli holiday celebrations, assemblies, and cultural programming.
Foster a positive, inclusive, and joyful classroom environment that supports students' social, emotional, and spiritual growth.
Serve as a visible and active ambassador for The School within the broader Jewish community.
Maintain clear and consistent communication with students, families, and colleagues.
Engage in ongoing professional growth and reflective practice.
Qualifications:
Fluency in Hebrew (native or near-native proficiency required)
Bachelor's degree required, advanced degree in education or related field preferred
Prior teaching experience, ideally in a Jewish day school or similar setting
Strong interpersonal skills, flexibility, and a collaborative spirit
Deep appreciation for Jewish life, values, and Israel
Legal authorization to work in the United States (The School is not able to sponsor visas)
